SERVICE UPDATE · CLOSEOUT — TRANSPORTATION & MOBILITY

The new 511NY web service is live. Android is available; iPhone is still pending.

511NY's redesigned website is loading, and the agency links directly to the new Android app on Google Play. The iPhone app is awaiting Apple approval; iPhone users should use 511ny.org in the meantime.

What to use now

  • Web: use the redesigned service at 511ny.org ↗.
  • Android: use 511NY's official Google Play link ↗.
  • iPhone: the new app is awaiting Apple approval. Use 511ny.org for now, and do not download an unofficial substitute.
  • Before traveling: check current 511NY layers and the live source for the road, bridge, bus or rail service you plan to use.

The earlier interruption warning has been replaced

At 10:19 a.m. Wednesday, 511NY warned that service might be briefly interrupted during an afternoon update. By 1:54 p.m., the redesigned website was publicly loading and the agency had replaced that warning with an announcement that the new Android app is available and the iPhone app is coming soon.

The Rockland Edit confirmed that the public website loaded and that the official announcement linked to Google Play. We did not test every map layer, account feature, notification or device, so this closeout does not claim that every function works for every user.

What is confirmed for each platform

Android users have a direct official release link. The iPhone version is not yet available through 511NY's announcement: the agency says it is awaiting Apple approval and will be available after release. Until then, iPhone users should use the official website.

What changes for a resident: Rockland drivers and riders can use the new 511NY website now; Android users can install the official app, while iPhone users should stay on the web service until 511NY confirms the Apple release.

The Rockland Edit verified the public website and official Android link but did not independently test every site or app function.
