FOOD SAFETY RECALL — HEALTHCARE & AGING

Check the freezer. Every lot of one Bettergoods frozen pasta is recalled.

Gias Foods recalled Bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine sold nationwide at Walmart because it may contain Listeria monocytogenes. Do not eat a matching 22-ounce package; return it for a full refund.

The Rockland Edit food-recall card identifying 22-ounce Bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine, UPC 194346442706, all lots, with instructions not to eat it and to return it for a refund
Original identification card by The Rockland Edit, based on the October 1 FDA posting. It is not product photography, a Walmart notice or proof that a recalled package was sold in Rockland.

Match these details

  • Product: Bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine.
  • Size and package: 22 ounces in a yellow frozen-food bag.
  • UPC: 194346442706.
  • Lots: every lot code is included.
  • Action: do not eat it; return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

“All lots” means there is no safe lot-code shortcut

The company announcement posted by FDA covers all lot codes of this one product. Use the brand, full product name, 22-ounce size, yellow package and UPC together. The notice does not recall every Bettergoods meal or every frozen pasta.

The pasta was distributed nationwide at Walmart stores. That creates a possible Rockland purchase path, but FDA does not publish store-level distribution in this notice. The Rockland Edit has not confirmed a package sold in Rockland County.

No illnesses were reported when the notice was posted

Gias Foods says routine state sampling found that the finished product may contain Listeria monocytogenes. The October 1 notice reports no illnesses to date. The company says it stopped distribution while it and FDA investigate the cause.

Listeria is most likely to seriously harm pregnant people and newborns, adults 65 and older, and people with weakened immune systems. CDC says a person who ate recalled food and develops fever with symptoms such as fatigue or muscle aches should contact a healthcare provider and mention the possible exposure. People who ate a possible match but feel well generally do not need testing or treatment; anyone with questions should speak with a provider.

Return the package for a refund

  1. Keep the package closed and separate from food that will be eaten.
  2. Photograph the front, UPC and any lot or date markings for your records.
  3. Return the matching package to the place of purchase for a full refund.
  4. For recall questions, email Gias Foods at sales@giasfoods.com.

The federal notice directs consumers to return the product. It does not publish a discard-and-clean protocol or a receipt requirement, so this guide does not invent one.

What changes for a resident: anyone with a 22-ounce yellow bag of Bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine, UPC 194346442706, should not eat it and should return it for a full refund; every lot is included.
