ROAD SERVICE UPDATE — CLOSEOUT

Both Suffern I-87 crash notices have cleared. Use live 511NY for a new trip.

The northbound and southbound I-87 crash records near Exit 15A in Suffern were no longer in the 10:49 p.m. Saturday 511NY incident list. The public record does not provide the exact clearing times or final outcomes.

What changed

  • Earlier northbound record: after Exit 15A; start time 7:19 p.m.
  • Earlier southbound record: before Exit 15A; start time 8:08 p.m.
  • 10:49 p.m. check: neither record appeared in the 12-item 511NY incident list.
  • Not established: exact clearing time, reopening time, vehicles involved, injuries or final outcome.

For a new trip

Do not use the earlier incident page as live traffic guidance. Reopen the 511NY incident list ↗ and follow any current instructions from police or Thruway crews.

What this closeout does not prove

Removal from the incident list is enough to stop carrying the notices as current guidance. It does not establish when traffic normalized, whether a lane ever closed, whether anyone was injured or whether the two records were related.

What changes for a resident: the two earlier Suffern notices should no longer be treated as active guidance. Anyone making a new trip through Exit 15A should use the live 511NY list rather than this timestamped archive.

Primary source: the 511NY incident list ↗, checked October 10, 2026, at 10:49 p.m. EDT. The list showed 12 records and no longer included either earlier Suffern record. At 8:56 p.m., the list had carried separate NYS Thruway Authority crash notices northbound after Exit 15A, beginning at 7:19 p.m., and southbound before Exit 15A, beginning at 8:08 p.m. The Rockland Edit did not independently observe either crash, traffic conditions, response work, record removal or reopening.
