CONSUMER SAFETY RECALL HEALTHCARE, MENTAL HEALTH & AGING

Stop using it. Every JKMAX heated blanket and heating pad is recalled.

If you own a heated blanket or heating pad sold by JKMAX, stop using it now. The federal recall covers the company's entire line—not just one color, size or model.

Original recall guide by The Rockland Edit, based on CPSC recall 26-778. It is an information graphic, not product photography or evidence that an affected product is in Rockland.

What to do now

  • Stop using the product immediately. Do not keep using it while waiting for a refund.
  • Contact JKMAX for a full refund: call 800-917-5732, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–6 p.m. Eastern, or email JkmaxRecall@outlook.com.
  • The recall covers all JKMAX heated blankets and heating pads. A missing model number does not put a JKMAX product outside the recall.

577 overheating reports and 53 burn injuries

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says the products' internal wire heating elements can overheat, creating fire and burn hazards. JKMAX reported 577 incidents in which blankets smoked, melted or burned, including 53 burn injuries.

About 195,000 products were sold in one-packs and two-packs on Amazon from September 2022 through July 2026. That nationwide sale route gives Rockland residents a reason to check an online order, but it does not confirm that a recalled product was delivered here.

How to recognize one

CPSC describes blue, gray, brown or red polyester heated blankets and heating pads in multiple sizes. Both product types have a detachable white remote. The model number appears on the back of that remote and on a white packaging label beside the JKMAX name.

The federal notice lists five unique model numbers: JKMAX-002, JKMAX-7284B, JKMAX-6284B, JKMAX-10090B and JKMAX-8490B. CPSC repeats JKMAX-6284B in its description; this guide does not turn that duplicate entry into a sixth model. More importantly, the agency says the recall covers all heated blankets and heating pads sold under the JKMAX name.

Use the phone or email if the recall site will not load

CPSC also lists jkmaxrecall.com ↗. The Rockland Edit could not independently load that company page during the publication check Saturday night. The federal notice still provides the phone number and email above, so use either route if the site remains unavailable.

For official product photographs and the complete federal notice, use the CPSC source linked below. The Rockland Edit has not confirmed a Rockland order, fire or injury.

What changes for a resident: if you own any heated blanket or heating pad sold by JKMAX, stop using it immediately and contact the company for a full refund.

CPSC's notice repeats one model number; this guide preserves five unique entries. No Rockland purchase, fire or injury is confirmed.
