Going to AC/DC at MetLife? Rockland rail riders need an early return plan.

NJ Transit will run Meadowlands shuttles Friday, but there is no direct stadium train from a Rockland-serving line. Transfer at Secaucus, keep the required wristband and use the earlier return cutoff for your home line.

The 1 a.m. shuttle is not the Rockland deadline

NJ Transit says the final shuttle from Meadowlands Station will not leave before 1 a.m. That sounds like the number to remember, but it is too late for the last useful Rockland connections.

Port Jervis and Bergen County riders must leave Meadowlands by 12:10 a.m. to connect at Secaucus with the final westbound service. Pascack Valley riders get 10 more minutes: their cutoff is 12:20 a.m.

Treat those as departure deadlines from Meadowlands Station, not promises that a westbound train will wait for a late shuttle or a slow stadium exit. Leave room for the crowd, the walk to the station and any platform controls.

You need both the ticket and the wristband

There is no direct Meadowlands train from a Rockland-serving line. At Secaucus, show an NJ Transit ticket to Meadowlands Station and collect the wristband required to board the stadium shuttle. Keep the wristband on for the trip back.

NJ Transit recommends buying the round trip from your originating station to Meadowlands Station before boarding. A ticket bought aboard a train carries a $5 surcharge per ticket.

Someone arriving at the stadium another way may buy a shuttle wristband near Meadowlands Station beginning 2½ hours before the concert. That wristband covers only Meadowlands–Secaucus travel; a separate ticket is still required beyond Secaucus.

Sloatsburg riders may start with a bus

Friday remains inside NJ Transit's weekday Port Jervis construction plan. From approximately 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., substitute buses serve Sloatsburg and stations west of Suffern. Riders traveling during that window transfer between the bus and train at Ramsey Route 17.

Suffern stays on the train side of the plan, with weekday trains continuing between Suffern and Hoboken. And not every Sloatsburg concert trip needs the bus: a later departure may fall outside the work window. Check the temporary weekday schedule and trip planner for the exact first leg rather than building an itinerary from the approximate window alone.

One Main Line train moves 10 minutes later

Main Line Train 1225, normally scheduled to leave Hoboken at 6:20 p.m., is scheduled to depart at 6:30 p.m. Friday because of increased Meadowlands rail traffic. NJ Transit says every stop on that train will run 10 minutes later than usual.

That change belongs to Train 1225 only. It does not move every Main/Bergen County or Port Jervis trip.

Check the live route before leaving

Main/Bergen County and Pascack Valley were marked on time at 12:51 a.m. Wednesday. Both Ramsey Route 17 elevators and all seven listed Secaucus rail elevators were in service. Friday's Rutherford forecast called for a dry, partly cloudy evening. Those conditions are a check, not a guarantee: use NJ Transit's trip planner, rail-status page ↗ and elevator table ↗ before leaving—especially if a step-free path is essential.

What changes for a resident: a Rockland concertgoer using rail Friday must plan for a Secaucus transfer and required wristband, and must leave Meadowlands by the earlier 12:10 or 12:20 a.m. cutoff for the last useful westbound connection.
