TRANSIT SERVICE UPDATE — 8:53 A.M.

NJ Transit posts delays of up to 15 minutes into Penn Station. Check the Secaucus connection before leaving.

NJ Transit says eastbound rail service into Penn Station New York is subject to delays of up to 15 minutes after police investigated earlier track trespassers near North Elizabeth.

What to check now

  • Posted delay: up to 15 minutes on eastbound rail service into Penn Station New York.
  • Posted reason: an earlier police investigation of track trespassers near North Elizabeth.
  • Rockland connection: riders from Suffern or Sloatsburg who change at Secaucus for Penn should check both the northern-line train and the New York connection.
  • Live tools: use NJ Transit's line status and Secaucus DepartureVision before leaving and again before transferring.

Why this reaches Rockland

Main/Bergen and Port Jervis riders from Suffern and Sloatsburg can continue to Penn Station by changing at Secaucus. NJ Transit displays the delay notice on its Main–Bergen status page, so the second leg of that trip can take longer even if the train from Rockland reaches Secaucus normally.

What is not confirmed

NJ Transit has not posted a separate delay estimate for the Rockland-to-Secaucus first leg, an expected clearing time or a trip-by-trip list of affected trains. The notice says the track-trespass investigation was earlier; it does not say the posted delays have ended.

For the trip in front of you, check the Main–Bergen live status page ↗ and Secaucus DepartureVision ↗. The temporary Portal Cutover weekday schedule also remains in effect.

What changes for a resident: a Suffern or Sloatsburg rider continuing through Secaucus to Penn Station should allow for up to 15 extra minutes on the New York-bound leg and check both parts of the trip before leaving.
