TRANSIT SERVICE UPDATE — CLOSEOUT
NJ Transit now marks Rockland-serving lines on time. The Penn Station delay notice has cleared.
At the 5:51 p.m. check Monday, October 5, NJ Transit marked Main–Bergen and Pascack Valley on time and no longer displayed the systemwide Penn Station delay notice caused by the earlier Hudson River tunnel track condition.

For a new trip
- No active systemwide estimate: the October 5 Penn Station delay notice is no longer displayed on the line-status page.
- Rockland-serving lines: Main–Bergen and Pascack Valley were marked on time at 5:51 p.m.
- Conditions can change: use NJ Transit's live status page ↗ and Secaucus DepartureVision ↗ for a later trip.
Why this reaches Rockland
Main/Bergen and Port Jervis riders from Suffern and Sloatsburg, and Pascack Valley riders from Pearl River, Nanuet and Spring Valley, use northern-line trains that serve Secaucus and Hoboken. Riders continuing to Penn Station change at Secaucus, so the tunnel problem can disrupt the second part of that trip even when the Rockland-serving train itself is moving.
What is confirmed—and what is not
NJ Transit first posted delays of up to 60 minutes into and out of Penn Station, lowered the ceiling to 30 minutes around midday, and reduced it again to 20 minutes by 3:55 p.m. At 4:44 p.m., its official rail feed added a newer notice saying service was operating on or close to schedule, with residual delays for trains already en route. The Main/Bergen line page briefly lagged that recovery notice and still carried the 20-minute ceiling at 4:54 p.m. By 5:51 p.m., the line page marked every listed rail line on time and no longer displayed the Penn Station delay notice.
