INFANT PRODUCT RECALL — READER SERVICE
Take it out of the tub. ONTHEWEI bath seats are recalled for a drowning risk.
ONTHEWEI recalled about 2,140 baby bath seats because they are unstable and can tip over during use. Check the label on the back for model MY002 and manufacture date 2026/1/10; stop using an exact match immediately.

Match the back label and the seat
- Brand: ONTHEWEI baby bath seat.
- Model on back label:
MY002. - “Date of manufacturer” on back label:
2026/1/10. - Colors: gray, pink, blue or mist green.
- Design: detachable restraint arms and three suction cups on the underside.
- Sales: Amazon in April 2026, for $40–$50.
- Action: stop using an exact match immediately and request a full refund.
The seat can tip over during use
CPSC says the recalled seats are unstable and violate the mandatory federal standard for infant bath seats. A tip-over during bathing creates a risk of serious injury or death from drowning.
No incidents or injuries were reported when the October 8 notice was issued. This is a preventive stop-use recall; the absence of a reported incident does not make a matching seat safe to keep using.
Follow the destruction steps in order
- Stop using the seat and keep it out of the tub.
- Write RECALLED on the front in permanent marker.
- Remove the back rest and arm restraints, then cut all three suction cups on the underside.
- Take a photo of the destroyed seat showing the marking and email it to onthewei@outlook.com for a full refund.
- Dispose of the recalled product after documenting it.
Do not resell, donate or give away a recalled seat. Federal law prohibits the sale of recalled products.
Amazon sales create a possible Rockland purchase path
The recalled seats were sold on Amazon during April 2026. That creates a plausible purchase path for a Rockland household, but the public notice does not identify a Rockland order, use, tip-over or injury.
What changes for a resident: A parent or caregiver with an ONTHEWEI bath seat should check the back label for model MY002 and date 2026/1/10, stop using a match immediately, complete the destruction steps and email the photo for a refund.
