TRANSIT SERVICE UPDATE — ARCHIVE

The train 68 delay notice has cleared. This page is now an archive.

NJ Transit now marks Main–Bergen and Pascack Valley on time and no longer displays the October 5–6 train 68 notice. Use live status—not this archive—for a new trip.

The Rockland Edit archive card stating that the train 68 delay notice has cleared and Main–Bergen and Pascack Valley are on time
Original archive card by The Rockland Edit, based on NJ Transit's line-status page. It is information design—not an agency notice, timetable or photograph of the affected train.

What to know now

  • Current line status: NJ Transit marked Main–Bergen and Pascack Valley on time at 2:56 a.m.
  • For a new trip: use NJ Transit's live line-status page ↗.
  • Archived record: the posted ceiling rose from 95 minutes at 11:53 p.m. to 110 minutes at 12:54 a.m.; those estimates are not current guidance.

What NJ Transit confirmed

At 11:53 p.m. Monday, NJ Transit said train 68—the train scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 11:49 p.m.—was up to 1 hour 35 minutes late after an earlier mechanical issue near Otisville. At 12:54 a.m. Tuesday, the posted ceiling rose to 1 hour 50 minutes. By 2:56 a.m., the notice was gone and the line-status page marked both Main–Bergen and Pascack Valley on time.

Why this matters in Rockland

Train 68 runs on the Main/Bergen–Port Jervis corridor used at Rockland's Sloatsburg and Suffern stations. During the notice, riders and pickup drivers needed to replace the printed timetable with live trip status. The notice named one train; it was not a full-line delay estimate.

What changes for a resident: do not plan a new trip around the October 5–6 train 68 delay estimates. The notice has cleared, and current NJ Transit status controls.

Primary source: NJ Transit's Main/Bergen–Port Jervis line-status page ↗, checked October 5 at 11:53 p.m. and October 6 at 12:54 and 2:56 a.m. EDT. The page first described train 68 as up to 1 hour 35 minutes late, then up to 1 hour 50 minutes late. At the final check, it marked Main–Bergen and Pascack Valley “On Time” and no longer displayed the train 68 notice. The Rockland Edit does not infer the train's exact arrival or outcome from the notice's disappearance.
