What the original listing said
The County listed Sunday, October 4, from 9 a.m.–noon at the Dr. Robert L. Yeager Health Center, Building A, 50 Sanatorium Road in Pomona. It said appointments were required for healthy dogs, cats and ferrets belonging to Rockland residents; pets had to be at least 4 months old, with dogs leashed and cats and ferrets in a carrier or on a leash.
The listing required an appointment
The County's rabies page and October 4 calendar record both said appointments were required. The public records did not state how many appointments remained, how long a visit would take or whether late arrivals could be accommodated. Those instructions are retained for accuracy but must not be reused for another clinic without a fresh County notice.
Bring only a healthy, properly restrained pet
The County says the clinic is for dogs, cats and ferrets owned by Rockland residents. Pets must be healthy and at least 4 months old. Dogs must be on a leash; cats and ferrets must be in a carrier or leashed.
New York law and the Rockland County Sanitary Code require dogs, cats and ferrets to receive their first rabies vaccination by 4 months of age. The clinic record does not publish document requirements, prior-vaccine-record instructions or medical exceptions, so ask the Health Department before traveling if any of those details affect your pet.
If a person or pet may have been exposed, do not wait for the clinic
This scheduled clinic is not an emergency exposure service. For an animal bite or scratch, the County says to wash the area with warm soapy water, seek medical advice and report the exposure. Its rabies line is 845-364-2594 from 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; after hours, call 845-364-8600.
What changes for a resident: the October 4 appointment window has ended. Do not travel based on this archive; check the County's current rabies page or call the Health Department for another verified clinic date.
Primary sources: Rockland County Department of Health rabies page ↗ and the County's October 4 clinic record ↗. The controlling records set the 9 a.m.–noon appointment window. At 12:54 p.m. EDT the County pages denied a fresh automated open request, and no indexed official extension or post-clinic outcome was found. The Rockland Edit therefore closes the service window without inferring attendance, vaccination delivery, cancellation or completion.
