READER SERVICE GUIDE ARCHIVE — COMMUNITY & ACCESS

Haverstraw's October 4 shredding window has ended. This page is an archive, not current drop-off guidance.

The posted 8 a.m.–noon service window has passed. No official extension, truck-capacity outcome or post-event report was found, so this page preserves the original instructions without claiming the event occurred as planned.

Archived Rockland Edit service card preserving the posted October 4 Haverstraw paper-shredding hours, three-box-per-car limit and first-come capacity warning
Original service card by The Rockland Edit, preserved with the archive. Its October 4 hours have passed; it is not a current service notice or proof that the event occurred or reached capacity.

The posted window has passed

  • Status: the October 4 service window ended at noon.
  • Outcome: no official completion, cancellation, extension or final-capacity notice was found.
  • Do not travel on this listing: check Rockland Green's current events page ↗ for another date.
  • Questions: Rockland Green at 845-753-2200.

What the original listing said

Rockland Green listed Sunday, October 4, from 8 a.m.–noon at Haverstraw Town Hall, One Rosman Road in Garnerville. It limited service to Rockland County residents, excluded businesses and nonprofit organizations, capped each car at three banker boxes and said the trucks would serve residents first-come until full.

Paperclips and staples can stay. Plastic cannot.

Rockland Green's event page and flyer say paperclips and staples are acceptable. Do not bring pre-shredded paper, plastic bags, binders or other plastics. The posted three-box limit applies per car.

The listing did not guarantee service through noon

The 2026 flyer told residents to remain in their cars and said service was first-come until the trucks were full. The public records did not publish a reservation system, live truck capacity or estimated wait time, and no later notice establishes when capacity ended.

The food donation is requested, not an admission price

Rockland Green asks participants to bring a nonperishable food item for local food pantries. The same record calls the shredding service free; it does not describe the food contribution as a fee.

The public records did not specify proof-of-residency documents or how damaged, wet, moldy or unusually sized paper would be handled. Those unanswered details remain part of the archive and should not be applied to a future event without a fresh check.

What changes for a resident: the Haverstraw window has ended, so this page should not be used as permission to travel or drop off paper. Use Rockland Green's current event listing for another verified opportunity.

Primary sources: the Rockland Green Haverstraw event page ↗, the current Rockland Green event index ↗ and the official 2026 paper-shredding flyer ↗. The event index still displayed the October 4 listing at 12:54 p.m. EDT, but the posted noon end had passed and no post-event outcome or extension was published. The Rockland Edit does not infer that the event occurred as planned, reached capacity or remained open through noon.
