DRUG RECALL — EXACT-LOT CHECK
Check the toothpaste tube. The brand name alone is not enough.
FDA's current enforcement database lists specified lots of 17 Brush Buddies, BB, evo and ARU toothpastes in an ongoing nationwide Class II recall. Several are marketed with Barbie, Hot Wheels, Crayola or My Little Pony names. Match the exact product, UPC, lot and expiration before deciding whether your tube is included.

Use all four identifiers
- Match the brand, product and flavor in the table below.
- Match the UPC on the package. Similar names are not enough.
- Open the linked FDA record and compare the tube's lot number and expiration date.
- If every field matches, follow instructions from the seller or recalling firm. The current FDA event record does not publish a consumer-level stop-use, return, refund or disposal instruction.

The recalled lots expire from November 2026 into December 2028. Do not use that broad date range as a shortcut: the lot and expiration pairing in the individual FDA record controls.
What FDA says—and does not say
FDA event 99849 ↗ describes the reason as “CGMP Deviations” and marks the event ongoing. It does not identify a contaminant, explain the manufacturing deviation, report an illness or complaint, or provide a consumer-level stop-use, return, refund or disposal instruction. The Rockland Edit therefore does not invent one.
FDA defines Class II as a situation in which use or exposure may cause temporary or medically reversible health consequences, or the probability of serious consequences is remote. Its general drug-recall guidance ↗ says consumers can generally continue using a Class II medicine unless the recalling company or FDA directs otherwise. Ask the retailer, pharmacist, dentist or FDA if you need help interpreting a match.
Why we say “more than 4.3 million”
The FDA event page reports 4,300,147 pieces distributed. Adding the 17 product-quantity fields produces 4,301,700 tubes. The current record does not explain the 1,553-unit difference, so this guide does not present either number as the one exact total.
If you experienced a serious reaction or quality problem, use FDA MedWatch ↗. Reporting does not replace urgent medical care.
What changes for a Rockland resident: you can check a tube against the exact FDA product record instead of treating every toothpaste sold under these brands as recalled.
Primary records checked October 26, 2026, at 4:52 p.m. EDT: FDA iRES event 99849 and its 17 product records, plus FDA's May 6 drug-recall guidance and MedWatch page. The event lists U.S. nationwide distribution, a September 10 firm initiation, October 19 classification and ongoing status. It does not identify a Rockland seller, local purchase, complaint or injury. The Rockland Edit did not contact the firm or reproduce character or package art.
