CONSUMER RECALL — COMMUNITY & ACCESS
Stop using Cuisinart wire-bristle grill brushes. The recall now covers every model.
The federal safety agency expanded an earlier eight-model recall Thursday to include every Cuisinart metal wire-bristle grill brush. If you have one, stop using it immediately and request the refund or enhanced store credit—even if its model number was not on the older list.

What to do now
- Product: Every Cuisinart metal wire-bristle grill brush.
- Action: Stop using the brush immediately.
- Why: Metal bristles can detach, remain on the grill or food, and cause serious internal injury if swallowed.
- Remedy: A full cash refund or Cuisinart.com credit equal to the refund plus 20%.
- Contact: Conair at 888-520-1304, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern, or use the online recall form.
Do not stop at the old model-number list
The earlier July recall named eight models: CCB-100, CCB-4125, CCB-5014, CCB-6450, CCB-8012, CCB-4114, CCB-W2, and CSBS-777. That list is no longer the boundary. The August 27 expansion covers all Cuisinart metal wire-bristle grill brushes.
The simplest check is the brand and brush type: if it is a Cuisinart grill brush with metal wire bristles, stop using it.
Why the recall expanded
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says the expansion adds about 1,905,805 brushes to the 1,719,995 recalled in July—a total of 3,625,800 brushes. The agency reports 54 reports or consumer reviews involving detached bristles. Three people swallowed bristles and needed medical treatment to remove them from the digestive tract or throat.
How to request the remedy
- Stop using the brush.
- Open Conair’s recall form ↗ and follow its photo and disposal instructions.
- Choose either the full refund or the Cuisinart.com credit worth the refund amount plus 20%.
- Keep the confirmation until the remedy is complete.
The brushes were sold at Walmart, Burlington, TJ Maxx, Ross, Amazon, Cuisinart.com, and other stores from June 2009 through March 2026 for about $8 to $20.
The expanded recall is broader than the older eight-model notice. If the brush says Cuisinart and uses metal wire bristles, stop using it and start the remedy process.
