CONSUMER SAFETY RECALL — READER SERVICE

Park the mower. Eight DR Power trimmer models are recalled after fires.

DR Power Equipment recalled about 42,860 Pilot and Premier walk-behind trimmer mowers because grass and debris can collect and ignite. Check the model label on the side of the frame; stop using an exact match immediately.

The Rockland Edit recall card listing eight DR Power Pilot and Premier trimmer-mower model numbers and instructions to stop use and request a free repair
Original model-check card by The Rockland Edit, based on CPSC recall 27-016. It is information design, not product photography, a dealer notice or evidence that a recalled mower was sold or used in Rockland.

Check the label on the side of the frame

  • Pilot models: T4X1076DMN, T4X1076DMNR, T4X1076DMNSD, T4X1176DMN, T4X1176DMN-1 and T4X1176DMNR.
  • Premier models: TR43076DMN and TR43076DMNR.
  • Serial numbers: all serial numbers for those eight model numbers are included.
  • Appearance: orange and black, with the DR Power logo on the motor and frame above the cutter head; the frame is labeled Premier or Pro.
  • Action: stop using a match and contact DR Power Equipment for a free repair kit.

Grass and debris can ignite

CPSC says grass and debris can accumulate in the recalled trimmer mowers and catch fire, creating a risk of serious injury or death from fire and burns. DR Power Equipment reported 19 fires and two minor injuries, including blisters on hands and feet.

Do not run a possible match to see whether debris collects. Use the side-frame label to match the complete model number first; color, the DR logo or the word Pro alone is not enough.

The remedy is a free repair

  1. Stop using an exact match immediately and keep it parked away from ignition sources.
  2. Contact DR Power Equipment at 800-854-3194, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern; email recall@drpower.com; or use DR Power's recall page ↗.
  3. Request the free repair kit. If you are concerned about installing it, ask DR Power to schedule free installation through an authorized dealer.

CPSC does not direct consumers to discard the mower or promise a refund or replacement. The listed remedy is a free repair.

The products had broad retail distribution

The recalled machines were sold at Ace, TSC, Bomgaars, other hardware and home-improvement stores, independent power-equipment dealers and drpower.com from November 2022 through July 2026 for $380–$550. The nationwide sales record creates a possible Rockland purchase path, but the public notice does not confirm a local sale, fire or injury.

What changes for a resident: If you own a DR Power Pilot or Premier walk-behind trimmer mower, read the side-frame model label before the next use; park an exact match and contact DR Power for the free repair.
