CONSUMER SAFETY RECALL — GAS, FIRE & CO HAZARDS
Check an NTI or HTP gas boiler. The model alone is not enough.
Ariston recalled 4,726 residential gas boilers in the United States after 34 reports that an internal condensate dish broke, including three reports of the front cover detaching. One technician suffered a broken jaw. Owners of an exact model-and-serial match should stop using the boiler and arrange a free certified repair.

Check before the next heating cycle
- NTI models: FTVN150, FTVN150C, FTVN199, FTVN199C, TFTN150 and TFTN199.
- HTP models: EFTU-150WBN, EFTU-150WCN, EFTU-199WBN and EFTU-199WCN.
- Serial number: use the rating plate on the left side of the boiler and compare the entire number with the official CPSC range table ↗.
- Exact match: stop using it and contact Ariston for a free repair by a certified technician. Do not clear a lockout or attempt the repair yourself.
Why both the model and serial number matter
The recall covers six gray NTI FTVN/TFTN models and four black HTP EFTU models. The brand appears on the front, but the controlling check is the full model and serial number on the rating plate. A similar-looking boiler or a listed model with a serial number outside the federal ranges is not identified in this recall.
The official table contains long serial ranges. Use the live CPSC record rather than comparing a shortened number or assuming every unit in one series is included.
Stop use—or protect the building while repair is pending
CPSC says consumers should stop using a recalled boiler immediately and contact Ariston to schedule the free repair. Ariston says a certified technician must install the repair kit, inspect the condensate dish and complete combustion testing before returning the unit to service. Owners should not reset or clear a boiler lockout themselves.
If a household must continue using the boiler while waiting for repair, CPSC says to have working smoke and carbon-monoxide alarms in the home. Ariston's notice is more specific: confirm working alarms throughout the building, including the boiler room, each level and outside sleeping areas.
Call Ariston at 800-688-2575, 7 a.m.–8 p.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday, email VCexchanger@ariston.com, or use the manufacturer's recall instructions ↗. HTP owners should begin with the CPSC table because the reviewed NTI page addresses the FTVN/TFTN series.
What failed—and the local limit
CPSC says a delayed ignition can crack the condensate dish, allowing unburned gas to collect inside the sealed cabinet. If the gas ignites, the front cover can detach, creating fire, carbon-monoxide-poisoning and impact hazards.
The federal notice reports 34 broken condensate dishes, three detached covers and one broken-jaw injury to a servicing technician. The boilers were sold through independent heating and plumbing contractors and wholesale distributors nationwide from May 2021 through July 2026 for about $3,200 to $7,700. That nationwide channel makes local installation possible, but the reviewed records do not identify a Rockland installer, boiler, gas event, carbon-monoxide exposure or injury.
What this changes for a Rockland resident: before relying on an NTI FTVN/TFTN or HTP EFTU boiler, read the left-side rating plate. If both the model and serial range match, stop use and arrange the no-cost certified repair.
Primary records checked October 30, 2026, at 12:56 a.m. EDT: U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, recall 27-051, dated October 29 ↗; and Ariston / NTI, FTVN/TFTN recall instructions ↗. The CPSC record controls the U.S. product scope and count; the manufacturer record supplies technician and alarm instructions. No Rockland transaction, installation or incident is claimed.
