PRODUCT SAFETY WARNING — NOT A RECALL

Check model JZA-540COM. It may not warn you about smoke or fire.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says combination alarms sold under the JuzhiAnn, Yfwsrecinoe and JAEHSKA names can fail to sound in hazardous smoke or fire. Stop using an exact match, dispose of it and install working smoke and carbon-monoxide alarms immediately.

The exact check

  • Brand names: JuzhiAnn, Yfwsrecinoe or JAEHSKA.
  • Model: JZA-540COM.
  • Appearance: white plastic combination alarm with a digital display, sold alone or in multipacks.
  • Action: stop using it, dispose of it, install working smoke and carbon-monoxide alarms, and do not sell or give the device away.

Seven reported failures—and no company recall

CPSC says it has received seven reports of the alarms failing to alert in the presence of smoke or fire. The federal warning covers about 51,825 units sold on Amazon and eBay from November 2023 through October 2026 for about $11 to $107.

This is a CPSC product safety warning, not a cooperative recall. The agency says the retailer, Shenzhen Laijinhe Trading Co., Ltd., doing business as Yfwsrecinoe US, did not respond to its request to recall the products. The reviewed federal record therefore offers no refund or replacement program.

Replace the protection; do not leave a gap

CPSC says homes should have smoke alarms and carbon-monoxide detectors on every level and outside separate sleeping areas. The agency recommends battery-operated alarms or models with battery backup, frequent testing and products that meet UL 217 for smoke alarms and UL 2034 for carbon-monoxide alarms.

The warning specifically documents failure to alert in hazardous smoke or fire. It does not publish a separate carbon-monoxide test result, so this article does not infer one. The immediate federal instruction still applies to the entire combination device: stop using it and install working protection.

The Rockland limit

Nationwide online sales make local ownership possible, but the reviewed record does not identify a Rockland buyer, seller, fire or alarm failure. Match the brand and model before acting; a similar-looking detector is not enough.

What this changes for a Rockland resident: check every combination alarm in the home now. If the label says JZA-540COM under one of the three listed brands, replace the protection immediately rather than waiting for a recall that the retailer has not issued.
