Rockland’s Labor Day transit changes have passed. Check Tuesday service before traveling.
The September 7 holiday schedules below are now a record, not current trip guidance. For Tuesday travel, use each operator’s current schedule and live alerts; do not assume every route changed back at midnight.
Monday, September 7 — archived schedule
- Saturday schedule: TOR 59, 91, 92, 93, 94 and Loop 3.
- TOR 93 seasonal stop: Spook Rock Swimming Pool was scheduled to be served from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, the last day of the summer detour.
- Regular schedule: TOR Loop 1 and Loop 2.
- No service: TOR 95 and TOR 97.
- TRIPS: ADA service only.
- Transit Information Center: Closed.
Connecting buses, trains and ferry — Monday archive
- Hudson Link: Weekend schedule.
- Coach USA Shortline: Modified weekend service; check the operator’s schedule for updates.
- Coach USA Rockland Coaches: Modified service; check the operator’s schedule for updates.
- Coach USA Exit 14 Express and OWL: No service.
- Monsey Trails: Special Labor Day schedule; the County says to confirm with dispatch at 845-510-5100.
- Clarkstown Mini Trans: No service.
- Port Jervis Line: Sunday service.
- Pascack Valley Line: Weekend service.
- Haverstraw–Ossining ferry: No service.
For Tuesday, return to the current operator schedule
Rockland County’s Labor Day notice divided local bus service into three different Monday patterns. That holiday notice should not be used as a Tuesday timetable. Check the County’s live transit page and the current schedule for the exact route before leaving. Check the live County transit page ↗
The TOR 93 seasonal Spook Rock Swimming Pool stop was scheduled to end Monday evening. The County said the stop fell between the Rockland Community College and Suffern High School timing points and did not change the rest of the TOR 93 schedule. Riders should use the current TOR 93 schedule Tuesday rather than carrying that seasonal stop forward.
Monday’s notice limited TRIPS to ADA service and suspended regular TRIPS service for the holiday. Tuesday riders should return to the current reservation and eligibility guidance instead of relying on Monday’s notice. Open the County’s TRIPS page ↗
West-of-Hudson rail is line-specific
The County’s expanded notice said the Port Jervis Line would run Sunday service and the Pascack Valley Line would run weekend service Monday. For Tuesday, check the exact train shortly before leaving. MTA also listed some holiday-weekend work elsewhere in its system through 5 a.m. Tuesday, which can matter to riders making connections beyond Rockland; that is not a claim that the two West-of-Hudson lines kept their Monday schedules until 5 a.m. Open the Pascack Valley timetable ↗ Open the Port Jervis timetable ↗
The Haverstraw–Ossining ferry did not run Monday
MTA’s ferry page lists Labor Day among the holidays when the Haverstraw–Ossining ferry does not operate. Tuesday travelers should use the current ferry page and connecting train schedule rather than Monday’s closure note. Check the ferry service page ↗
Village services and other connections still need a call
The County notice does not publish a schedule for Kaser Village Transit or New Square Village Tremp. It directs riders to call Kaser Village Transit at 845-352-2932 and New Square Village Tremp at 845-354-1000. The notice also does not establish PATH, taxi or rideshare service. Check each operator separately rather than assuming one agency’s holiday pattern applies to the next leg.
Driving early Tuesday? The construction pause runs until 6 a.m.
New York suspended temporary lane closures for road and bridge construction on state highways from 6 a.m. Friday, September 4, through 6 a.m. Tuesday, September 8. The pause is not a promise of clear roads: emergency repairs and work behind permanent concrete barriers may continue. Check 511NY ↗ shortly before driving for current incidents and conditions.
Before you leave Tuesday
- Write down every route and connection in the trip.
- Open the current Tuesday schedule for each operator.
- Save the last return trip before leaving home.
- Recheck live alerts shortly before leaving, especially during the early-morning transition from the holiday weekend.
The short version: Monday’s route-by-route holiday schedules are over and should not be carried into Tuesday. Use current operator schedules and live alerts for every leg. Early-morning riders should allow for MTA weekend work and remember that New York’s temporary state-highway construction-lane pause ends at 6 a.m.
