Pomona's walk-in flu clinic is Friday. Call first if you're going for MMR.
Rockland County's clinic at the Yeager Health Center runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. No appointment is needed. Flu vaccination is confirmed in both County records; the event page lists MMR, but the County's September 10 series announcement does not.
Before you go
- When: Friday, September 18, 9 a.m.–2 p.m.
- Where: Dr. Robert L. Yeager Health Center, Building A, Exhibition Hall, 50 Sanatorium Road, Pomona.
- Registration: no preregistration; staff will register people on site.
- Flu: available for ages 6 months and older; high-dose vaccine is available for people 65 and older.
- Insurance: bring a Medicare, Medicaid or private-insurance card if you have one.
- MMR questions: call the Rockland County Department of Health at 845-364-2534 before traveling.
Flu vaccination is confirmed in both County records
The Health Department's September 10 announcement and the September 18 event page both list flu vaccination at Friday's clinic. The County says flu vaccine is available from age 6 months and that a high-dose version will be given to people 65 and older.
The County says vaccination is free for people who are uninsured or underinsured. It asks people with Medicare, Medicaid or private health insurance to bring their insurance card. The records do not explain whether an insured person could face cost-sharing, so ask clinic staff before vaccination if cost is a deciding factor.
The County's MMR listings do not match
The current event page calls Friday's stop a “Flu & Measles (MMR) Clinic” and says MMR will be available at no cost to non-immune residents ages 6 months and older. But the Health Department's September 10 countywide announcement lists only flu for this stop.
That is a source conflict, not a reason to pick the more convenient answer. If you are going specifically for MMR, call 845-364-2534 before leaving and ask whether it will be available Friday, whether you are eligible and what documentation to bring. Neither source lists RSV, pneumonia or tetanus vaccine for the September 18 stop.
Plan for Building A, not just the campus address
The event page places the clinic in the Exhibition Hall inside Building A at 50 Sanatorium Road. It does not publish parking, accessible-route, seating, language-assistance or weather-backup details. Confirm an accommodation need with the Health Department before traveling.
The event title is not a personal vaccine recommendation. The County advises residents to talk with a healthcare provider about which vaccines they need and when.
What changes for a resident: a no-appointment flu-vaccination option is available in Pomona Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. If MMR is the reason for the trip, call first because the County's event page and series announcement do not give the same answer.
