Route 9W’s planned work window has ended. The outcome remains unconfirmed.

NYSDOT’s weather-dependent 7 a.m.–noon window has passed. No official completion, reopening, cancellation or postponement record surfaced by 4:58 p.m., so the expired plan is no longer being carried as a live alert.

The announced noon end has passed. NYSDOT’s written advisory remains posted, but no separate official record confirmed completion, reopening, cancellation or postponement. The Rockland Edit has therefore removed the expired plan from its live Alert Bar. That is a publishing closeout—not proof that the road is open or that the work occurred.

At 10:21 a.m. Saturday, 511NY’s Hudson Valley–Catskill regional page displayed “There’s no alert at this time.” The live map also showed no closure or construction marker at Hickey Street after those layers were selected. No official after-action update surfaced by 4:58 p.m. Those facts do not establish that the work was canceled, completed or still affecting traffic. Anyone traveling the segment should use 511NY for current conditions and follow onsite signs.

The official notices do not name the full detour

NYSDOT tells drivers to follow the posted detour, while the public 511NY row says traffic will be detoured without giving turn-by-turn directions. For earlier NYSDOT closures on this same stretch in August, the signed detour used Routes 340, 303, and 59. Rockland County’s public transit-alert page did not list a Route 9W-related TOR change when checked early Thursday. That means no separate TOR disruption has been confirmed—not that every trip will be unaffected by redirected traffic. Pedestrian and bicycle access remains unspecified

The 511NY record says all travel lanes will close but does not separately address sidewalks, bicycles, local-property access, or emergency access. Pedestrians and cyclists should not assume they will be allowed through the work area; follow onsite instructions and use another route if crews or police close the corridor to all users.
